Kick-off meeting of the Erasmus+ CBHE project - HEAL at European University

On January 23 the first working meeting of the Erasmus+ CBHE project “Enhancement of special oral healthcare practice and lifelong learning among dental practitioners in Georgia (HEAL)” (ERASMUS-EDU-2023-CBHE-STRAND-1-101129331) took place at European University.

The aim of the project is to contribute to shaping and enhancing oral health workforce by upgrading/modernising the curricula of dentistry programmes at Georgian Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and equipping students with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide high quality dental care and service to patients with disabilities in Georgia.

It is noteworthy that the HEAL project foresees the cooperation of both national and international partner organizations. On a national level, the project partners with the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement, Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University, and Akaki Tsereteli State University. When it comes to the international members of the project consortium, they are as follows: Poznan University of Medical Sciences (Poland), Istanbul Aydin University (Turkey), and Sofia Medical University (Bulgaria).

The kick-off meeting was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of European University, Natia Jojua.

The President of the Georgian Dental Association (GSA) and the Head of the Dentistry program at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Ketevan Gogilashvili, and Lasha Margishvili, Acting Director of the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement addressed the audience as well.

On behalf of European University, the kick-off meeting was attended by the Rector of European University, Nino Taliashvili. The HEAL project team members also took part in the first working meeting.  

The kick-off meetings of the project will continue until January 25.
