Tbilisi Public School N6 hosted a two-day training for European University professors

On June 15-16, 2022, Tbilisi Public School N6 hosted a two-day training for European University professors on the topics: "Assessment System Reform" and " Optimization of textbooks and teaching methods".

The training was led by the trainers of the EU co-funded Erasmus + Jean Monnet project "Advancing European Values and Standards in Georgian Schools (EU-GS)", Professors Ekaterine Natsvlishvili and Lela Abdushelishvili.

The aim of the EU GS project was to assist Georgia in the implementation of the obligations under the Association Agreement with the European Union in terms of Europeanizing the Georgian secondary education system, and it was being implemented by European University from December 2020 to June 2022.

It is important that the mentioned training was not an activity envisaged by the project and it was the school principal, Mrs. Tamar Abazadze, who took the initiative to hold it, after attending similar training sessions within the project. Tamar Abazadze wanted to share the theoretical and practical knowledge gained during the training with her colleagues and, consequently, to disseminate and consolidate, throughout her school, the results achieved by the project.

The training aroused great interest among the attendees and they were actively involved in practical work. Although they are regularly trained by the House of Teachers, it was noted that the training modules developed under the EU GS project were of significant added value to them. In particular, teachers were given the opportunity to clarify to them previously vague teaching and assessment methods, the use of which had made them feel less comfortable or competent.
