European University organized an international conference "Actual Problems of Justice"

On May 17, 2018, European University organized an international conference "Actual Problems of Justice" which was held within the framework of "International Legal Week". The event was attended by US judges, representatives of legislative, executive and judicial authorities of Georgia, also by the law practitioners. During the conference, the parallels were made between the US and Georgian court practices. Furthermore, the participants emphasized the achievements and challenges of Georgian justice.

Irakli Nadareishvili - the representative of the Chief Prosecutor's Office of Georgia attended the event. He noted that, within the framework of the conference, it has been revealed what the American justice is based on and how it works in general:

"It will be really nice for Georgian legal space to make it possible to use their [USA] vision, analysis and practical experience".

Jack Rice - the Judge from US underlined the importance of the proper service of citizens by the court administration, prosecutors, judges and lawyers. He said the main challenge is to make the citizens feel themselves safe.

By the invitation of European University, the representatives of the US Courts have been visiting Tbilisi during a week. Within the framework of the visit, on May 15, they held meetings with the Chairman of the Georgian Bar Association, Chief Prosecutor of Georgia, Secretary of the High Council of Justice of Georgia and the Council members, as well as the Minister of Probation of Georgia. In addition, on May 16, the US judges held masterclasses and shared their experience with Georgian lawmakers, NGOs, governmental organizations and students from various universities.
