On September 5, the final event of the Jean Monnet Summer Academy, 'EnlargeEU,' took place at European University

The ceremony opened with welcome speeches from Dr. Tatia Dolidze, the Jean Monnet Module Academic Coordinator, Ms. Mariam Sulashvili, Director of the National Erasmus+ Office in Georgia, and Dr. Eka Kavelidze, Dean of the Faculty of Law, Humanities, and Social Sciences at European University.

The keynote sessions featured prominent international speakers, including Steven Blockmans, Senior Fellow at CEPS (Brussels), and Francois Masclanis, Professor and Researcher at ISG (Toulouse, France).  They addressed the pressing issue of EU enlargement and geopolitical challenges Europe faces, including the dichotomy between nationalism and patriotism, and separatism versus integration.

The panel discussion, moderated by Dr. Dolidze, brought together experts to address key issues related to Georgia's security and its integration into European and NATO structures. Panelists included Levan Makhashvili (Head of Cabinet of the Chairman of Parliament), Erekle Iantbelidze (Ministry of Foreign Affairs), and Bidzina Lebanidze (Researcher at the University of Jena).

The event concluded with an interactive Q&A session, where participants had the opportunity to engage with the panelists. Following this, a Jean Monnet Academy Award Ceremony took place, during which all participants received certificates of participation.

The ceremony celebrated the success of the Jean Monnet Summer Academy "EnlargEU" and the crucial role it plays in promoting academic discourse on European integration and Georgia's future within Europe.
