Financiers from Daugavpils University (Latvia) visited European University for the purpose of experience exchange

Within the framework of the Erasmus+ Mobility for Staff Training, Jūlija Baranovska, Deputy Head of the Finance and Accounting Department at Daugavpils University (Latvia) and Anna Daugule, Accountant at the same department of the same institution, paid a working visit to European University.

Latvian guests held formal meetings with the Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, Tatia Dolidze, Vice-Rector for Quality Enhancement, Sophio Khundadze, Head of the Strategic Development Office, Giorgi Munjishvili, along with the managers of the International Relations Office at European University.

Apart from that, Jūlija Baranovska and Anna Daugule had a fruitful working meeting with their counterparts from European University and shared their professional experience. The Head of the Financial Office, Elene Jikia and the financial managers, Lika Jikia and Lika Tsulukidze discussed several important themes with their Latvian colleagues. More specifically, the following issues were addressed during the working session: Financial management characteristics of the projects financed by the European Commission, features of transferring funds to different countries in the framework of the Erasmus+ international mobility program, reporting requirements in Latvia and Georgia and so forth.

The representatives of Daugavpils University toured the administrative building of the "European University," where they had the opportunity to visit the Historical-Archaeological Museum of the European University, the hall named after Zurab Zhvania, and the Hall of the Constitution of Georgia.

It should be noted that during the present year, European University hosted the second delegation from Daugavpils University. Daugavpils University prepared a joint proposal within the framework of the 2023 Erasmus+ KA171 program the results of which are to be announced soon. In case the application is successful, both the academic/administrative personnel and students of European University will be given the opportunity to obtain the grants for mobility purposes.
