Registration for the intensive course for students of “European University” has started

On 7 – 8 May, organized by the International Relations Office of European University, in collaboration with the Faculty of Law, Humanities and Social Sciences and academic staff from Comenius University (Bratislava, Slovakia), a two-day intensive course will be held on: “Climate Change & EU Policies: Managing Climate-Related Risks Through Law, Land and Forest Governance.”

The course aims to introduce participants to:

  • Key climate concepts (mitigation vs. adaptation; climate risk)
  • The structure of EU climate policy
  • The role of land and forests in EU climate governance
  • Practical application of EU policy principles through simulations and group work
  • Key elements of Georgia’s climate policy and its alignment with EU approaches

Brief information about the course trainers:

  • Maroš Pavlovič – Vice Dean of the Faculty of Law, Comenius University in Bratislava; Assistant Professor at the Department of Administrative and Environmental Law.
  • Ľudovít Máčaj – Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law, Comenius University in Bratislava, working in the field of administrative, environmental, land, and agricultural law.
  • Matus Michalovic – Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law, Comenius University in Bratislava, specializing in administrative and environmental law.
  • Salome Tsurtsumia – Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law, Humanities and Social Sciences, European University; Deputy Chairperson of the Roads Department of Georgia.

Registration for the course is open to students of programs in Law, International Relations, and Archaeology, and Integrated Master’s Program in Veterinary Medicine.
