The European University and the English Teachers\u2019 Association of Georgia (ETAG), in partnership with the US Embassy to Georgia and the British Council Georgia, hosted a one-day conference \u2013 Teaching English in the Digital Age: From AI to EdTech Innovation on April 26, 2025. The event, held at European University campus, attracted educators from various general and higher educational institutions across Georgia and abroad to explore innovative teaching approaches.<\/p>\r\n

The conference commenced with an opening address by Nino Taliashvili, Rector of the European University. Welcoming remarks were also delivered by Rusudan Tkemaladze, Director of the English Teachers’ Association of Georgia, and Zaza Purtseladze, Director of the British Council Georgia.<\/p>\r\n

This educational event aspired for knowledge exchange and professional development. The conference featured keynote speeches and concurrent sessions exploring practicalities of applying AI in English language teaching. Presenters shared insights on topics ranging from academic integrity to effective strategies and learner-centered approaches in the AI era. The sessions addressed both challenges and opportunities offering the audience concrete methodologies for the classroom.<\/p>\r\n

The European University and ETAG share a common value of having their modest contribution to the development of educational context in Georgia by being dedicated to advancing educational practices and facilitating discussion on integrating cutting-edge technology in teaching and learning. \u00a0Supporting initiatives that serve the public good and benefit society lies at the heart of European University\u2019s mission and strategic vision, guided by its strong commitment to the Third Mission.<\/p>\r\n
