From June 1, 2020, in order to promote the educational process and scientific-research activities, it operates within European University.<\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Institute together with the Historical-Archaeological Museum of European University regularly publishes the scientific-research journal \u201cArchaeology\u201d.<\/span><\/p><p><strong>The Andria Apakidze Institute of Archeology of European University carries out the following scientific-research and practical activities:<\/strong><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Promotion of archeology<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Implementation of field archaeological reconnaissance in Georgia and abroad<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Conducting archaeological excavations in Georgia and abroad<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Laboratory processing\/study\/restoration of materials obtained as a result of excavation<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Providing special archaeological expert conclusions and recommendations<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Organization of archaeological expositions, exhibitions at the national and international level<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Invitation of foreign specialists<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cooperation with relevant organizations, including foreign institutions<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Organization of scientific conferences, symposiums, and congresses<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Producing and distributing relevant scholarly literature, catalogs, periodicals, manuals (including digital ones)<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Promotion of student internships and increasing students involvement in field practice and archaeological research<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Involvement of those interested in archeology and field work<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Forms of activity of the Institute:<\/strong><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Conducting conferences, presentations and various activities<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Participation in archaeological projects<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Conducting archaeological research (reconnaissance, excavation works, processing, study and restoration of material obtained as a result of archaeological research)<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cooperation with foreign educational and research institutions<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Publishing a scholarly journal in the field of archeology, both in print and electronic form<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">publishing scientific literature<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/archeology.edu.ge\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u00a0<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/p><p><strong>The activities of the Andria Apakidze Institute of Archeology at European University are managed by the Scientific Council which is composed from the following scholars:<\/strong><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Prof. Aleksandre Noneshvili<\/strong> - archaeologist, historian, culturologist, academician of European University. Deputy Director of the Andria Apakidze Institute of Archeology at European University\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Prof. Nodar Foforadze<\/strong> - geologist (head of the Applied Geology Department at the Technical University of Georgia)<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Prof. Guram Kipiani -<\/strong> archaeologist, architect (head of the Paleo-urban Research Laboratory at Ilia State University)<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Prof. Vakhtang Licheli -<\/strong> archaeologist (head of the Institute of Archeology of the Faculty of Humanities at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University)<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Prof. Valery Vashakidze -<\/strong> historian (deputy director of the Ivane Javakhishvili Institute of History and Ethnology)<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Prof. Dimitri Akhvlediani -<\/strong> archaeologist (professor of the School of Arts and Sciences at Ilia State University)<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Prof. Liana Bitadze -<\/strong> anthropologist (chief scientist of the anthropological research laboratory of the Institute of History and Ethnology at Ivane Javakhisvili Tbilisi State University)<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Lavrenti Janiashvili -<\/strong> ethnologist, doctor of historical sciences (chief scientist of the anthropological research laboratory at the Ivane Javakhishvili Institute of History and Ethnology)<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Temur Bibiluri<\/strong> - archaeologist (chief custodian of the funds of the Apollon Kutateladze Tbilisi State Academy of Art Museum)<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Gocha Geradze<\/strong> - culturologist, numismatist (expert of the Forensic Examination Bureau named after L.
