Students of the Bachelor of Law Program attended the 3-day workshop “My Voice in Democracy” in Batumi organized by Council of Europe

The Council of Europe organized a three-day workshop themed “My Voice in Democracy” in Batumi from July 27 to July 31 for Law program students at the Faculty of Law, Humanities and Social Sciences of the European University.
Over thirty students, young leaders, and civic activists from different high schools throughout Georgia participated in a three-day session with EU students chosen through the competition. The event empowered participants with knowledge about electoral processes and human rights standards and provided them with tools to engage in democratic life.
Within the project’s framework, Professor Levan Meskhoradze, Head of the European University’s Bachelor of Law Program, discussed the European Court of Justice’s decisions on electoral rights and shared best practices with the participants.
The workshop focused on strengthening democratic resilience through meaningful youth participation. It featured expert presentations, interactive group exercises, and in-depth discussions on electoral integrity and voter rights.
Sessions on the case law of the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) deepened participants’ understanding of how electoral disputes can be resolved through international legal mechanisms.
The event was organised within the Council of Europe Project “Supporting Transparency, Inclusiveness and Integrity of Electoral Practice and Process in Georgia”.
