European University – Law Institute

Established in 2015, the Law Institute at European University is dedicated to advancing legal scholarship and fostering academic excellence. The Institute is the publisher of the international scientific journal Law and World, which serves as a platform for scholarly dialogue and legal research dissemination.

Mission and Objectives

The Law Institute aims to:

  • Cooperate with the international academic and scientific community and actively contribute to its development;
  • Conduct joint research projects in collaboration with Georgian and international partners;
  • Organize trainings, conferences, public lectures, seminars, and scientific-methodological events;
  • Support the professional development of legal practitioners and students across various legal fields;
  • Host international and regional competitions and Olympiads in law;
  • Facilitate ongoing research and analysis in the field of law and ensure the dissemination of findings;
  • Publish academic monographs, textbooks, and scientific journals;
  • Fostering the advancement of the legal field

Main Areas of Activity

The Law Institute engages in a wide range of academic and professional initiatives, including:

  • Hosting seminars, academic discussions, conferences, training courses, presentations, and legal competitions;
  • Partnering with public institutions, government bodies, and international/local donor organizations;
  • Participating in and initiating local and international research projects and competitions;
  • Providing legal consulting services to individuals and institutions;
  • Representing clients in legal proceedings;
  • Involving students of the Faculty of Law, Humanities, and Social Sciences in real court cases and legal processes;
  • Collaborating with foreign universities and research institutions;
  • Inviting international scholars to deliver lectures at European University;
  • Publishing a peer-reviewed academic journal in both print and electronic formats;
  • Translating and publishing major foreign legal textbooks into Georgian;
  • Participating in diverse educational and research programs.
