In 1975, Teimuraz Sturua graduated from Tbilisi State University, Faculty of Cybernetics and Applied Mathematics (specializing in mathematical mechanics for automated management systems).
From 1975 to 1979 he worked as a junior scientist worker at the Institute of Cybernetics of Georgian Academy of Sciences. In 1979-2006 he was teaching and holding positions of assistant, senior teacher at the ZooTechnic-Veterinary Study-Research Institute of Georgia. In parallel, in 1981-1987, he was the Head of the Automated Processing Laboratory of the Republican Scientific-Methodological Center for Study of Youth Problems. Since 2000 he has been an Associate Professor of Interdisciplinary Information Systems Department of Georgian Technical University. In 2006-2011 he also was an Associate Professor of the State Agricultural University of Georgia. Since 2014 he is a professor at the European University and runs the courses of computer skills and web design (HTML, CSS).
Teimuraz Sturua was elected as a member of the Academy of Social Sciences of Georgia in 2012. He is a member of Editorial Board of the magazine -Globalization and Business.
He has published more than 40 scientific papers, including 2 monographs and 23 manuals and supportive textbooks.
