Professor Giorgi Petriashvili has been appointed as the head of the ophthalmology department at the European Unversity

Affiliate Professor of European University and medical doctor Giorgi Petriashvili has been appointed as the head of the ophthalmology department.

He is an ophthalmologist at Aversi Clinic and a board member of the Society of Georgian Ophthalmologists.

In 1987, he received a qualification of a physician at the Second Medical Institute of Moscow, and in 1989, he obtained a qualification of a junior doctor of ophthalmology at the Helmholtz Moscow Research Institute of Eye Diseases.

Giorgi Petriashvili is actively involved in training courses, scientific research activities and seminars as a facilitator, speaker and participant, such as:

  • Calculation and Implementation of Thorium Crystals (Verion), Facilitator in 2018
  • Use of a shunt in glaucoma (Express), participant in 2019
  • Endonasal drainage of tear ducts, organizer in 2020
  • Anti-VGEF drugs in ophthalmology, facilitator in 2021
  • Fixation of artificial crystal during gingivitis, facilitator in 2022

In 2022, he authored the work/article "Dacryocystorhinostomy and the Screening of the Recurrence", in the Journal of Biomedical and Medicine Sciences. In 2021, he presented an article on "Postoperative IOL Dislocation, Solution, and Methods" at the Tbilisi International Ophthalmology Conference.
