Students of European University paid a study visit to the Intelligence Service of Georgia.

Students from the International Relations Program at the European University recently had the privilege of participating in a study visit to the Intelligence Service of Georgia. The visit, led by the Head of the Georgian Intelligence Service, Shalva Lomidze, and the Deputy Head, Giorgi (Gigi) Liluashvili, who is also an invited lecturer at the International Relations Program, provided them with a unique opportunity to engage with intelligence professionals, learn about recent reforms, and discuss global security issues.

During the visit, students actively participated in interactive discussions led by intelligence professionals, gaining firsthand knowledge of the practical aspects of intelligence work. They listened attentively and had the opportunity to ask questions, receiving comprehensive answers that deepened their understanding of intelligence operations and the challenges faced in maintaining national, regional and international security.

The study visit fostered critical thinking and analysis skills among the students as they delved into current regional processes and global security challenges. Engaging in these discussions equipped them with a broader perspective and a nuanced understanding of the complexities involved in international relations.

Participating in study visits of this nature is essential for students as it offers practical exposure, real-world insights, and direct engagement with professionals. European University values such opportunities to provide students with a well-rounded education that prepares them for successful careers in the dynamic and complex field of international relations.
