Professor Maia Mantskava has been appointed as the head of the scientific research department at the European University

Affiliated professor of European University, expert of clinical Rheology Maia Mantskava has been appointed as the head of the scientific research department at European University.

She is an authorization expert of higher education institutions and accreditation expert of educational programs at the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement  and head of the Laboratory of Rheology and Diagnostic-Analytical Services at I. Beritashvili Centre of Experimental Biomedicine.

She is also the president of the Society of Rheology and the chair of the East European part of the International Society of Microcirculation and Hemorheology.

In 1992, she got a degree in physics at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University; In 2001, she graduated from the Medical University ; In 2004, she completed postgraduate studies at Ivane Beritashvili Institute of Physiology and defended a PhD thesis. In 2013, she received the qualification of Healthcare Specialist at the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs.

Professor Maia Mantskava is an honorary emeritus of Perm State  University and an honorary doctor of the University of Lisbon. She was awarded an honorary award by the world organization for the Prevention of Pandemics. She received an award ,,Golden Lion’’ in the nomination "Innovations in Medicine" by the Transcaucasian Doctors' League.

Since 2010, Maia Mantskava has been leading BIOMED, a long-term international project of continuing medical education. She authorized a series of annual training courses for young researchers.

She is the supervisor , participant, and winner of more than 20 international and local grant projects. She has written nearly 100 scientific articles and regularly takes part in local and international congresses, conferences, and workshops.

She is the author of one book and three monographs. Learning and educational literature has been published under her editorship, and she is the co-editor of international journals: "Journal of Biomedical and Medical Sciences," "Clinical Hemorheology and Microcirculation," "Series on Biomechanics," and "Journal of Biomechanics".

Maia Mantskava assisted/supervised  18 PhD thesis and 5 master's theses. She is an author and co-author of postgraduate medical education programs.
