The project of European University - "Advancing the European values and standards in Georgian schools" – has been successfully completed

The implementation phase of mini-projects aimed at the promotion of European values by the winning schools of the school competition announced within the European University Erasmus+ Jean Monnet project - "Advancing the European values and standards in Georgian schools" – has been successfully completed.

Borjomi Public School N1 school initiative entitled "Borjomi - Beauty of Georgia" aimed at raising students' awareness about the importance of historical cultural monuments and national identity through arranging field activities of a theoretical and practical nature.

At the closing event held in Borjomi, students involved in the mini-project delivered a presentation about the Borjomi Municipality's historical-cultural monuments and a short film depicting the field activities was also screened for the attendees.

As for the mini-project implemented by Telavi Public School, the title was “Diversity Strengthens Us” and had as its goal to raise awareness of national and cultural identity as well as the idea of tolerance and equality.

The project closing event was held at the Telavi Historical Museum. Together with Telavi Public School N4 students, other beneficiaries from Jokolo Public School and Karajali Public School, as well as the representatives of the Georgian Udi community, took part in the closing event which was musically accompanied by Alvani Folk Ensemble.

Among the winning projects was the school initiative entitled - “All Different - All Equal”, presented by Zugdidi Public School N9. The project aimed at creating a travelling puppet theatre performing shows on human rights and freedoms.

In addition to this, the mentioned mini-project contributed to the popularization of performing arts, the improvement of the level of literacy among students and the development of creative, critical and innovative thinking.  Students from other public schools in the region, their parents and community representatives attended the project closing event.

It must be noted that the funds necessary for the implementation of the above-mentioned mini-projects were allocated to Telavi 4th, Borjomi 1st and Zugdidi 9th public schools from the European University in the form of sub-grants. The Erasmus+ Jean Monnet project - "Advancing the European values and standards in Georgian schools" - was co-financed by the European Union and implemented by "European University".
