European University is a permanent institutional member of a network of highly innovative members especially interested in the social commitment of higher education
The membership application submitted to the Global University Network of Innovation (GUNi) was successful! As of September 29, 2021, European University is a permanent institutional member of a network of highly innovative members especially interested in the social commitment of higher education.
GUNi was created in 1999 after the first UNESCO World Conference on Higher Education held by UNESCO to follow up and facilitate the implementation of its main decisions. It is supported by UNESCO and the Catalan Association of Public Universities (ACUP), which hosts its secretariat and presidency since 2014.
Today, GUNi is one of the world-leading think tanks on higher education policy and management and is a reference institution in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs in higher education.
It currently gathers 250 members from 80 countries, including higher education institutions, UNESCO Chairs, and research centers.
GUNi membership offers European University an effective platform for exchanging knowledge, information, materials, as well as for staying up to date with regard to higher education policy managing practices and other practical emerging issues on the international agenda.
European University hopes that GUNi membership will allow the institution to work closely with like-minded universities, research centers, and other relevant institutions that share an objective of fostering the role of higher education in society through public service, relevance, social responsibility, and innovation.
