FAO representatives conducted a training on aquaculture at European University

Representatives of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) conducted a training session on aquaculture for students of the Integrated Master’s Educational Program in Veterinary Medicine at European University.

The theoretical part of the training was dedicated to the fundamentals of aquaculture.
The speakers discussed Georgia’s aquaculture sector, biosecurity issues, infectious disease management, and food safety standards.

The practical part of the program took place at a trout farm located in Gori Municipality, where students had the opportunity to observe the main stages of fish production on-site, attend fish dissection sessions, and learn techniques for collecting pathological material.

The event aimed to enhance students’ professional competencies and promote practice-based learning.
