Competition for students of the Faculty of Medicine to undergo clinical practice at Heidelberg University Hospital

The European University’s Faculty of Medicine has announced a competition for students in the English-language and Georgian-language medical programs to complete a fully paid clinical internship in Germany.

Students will complete their clinical internship at Heidelberg University Hospital’s Department of General, Visceral, and Transplant Surgery.

Students will undergo their clinical internship at the Department of General, Visceral and Transplantation Surgery of the Heidelberg University Hospital.

The program does not provide academic credits and aims to support students in refining their knowledge and practical skills.

Period of clinical practice: February 16-20, 2026.

Eligibility requirements for participation:

  1. The student’s academic performance/GPA for the Spring semester of the 2024-2025 academic year must be 3.0 or higher.
  2. Level of study: Active-status students of the English- or Georgian-language MD program who are in their 7th semester or higher.
  3. The student must have the right to enter Schengen countries visa-free, or at the time of registration, must present a valid Schengen visa (covering March 2026).
  4. Students who have already completed a similar clinical practice at the Department of General, Visceral, and Transplant Surgery of Heidelberg University Hospital are not eligible to participate in this competition.

Selection criteria:

  1. Motivational letter
  2. Interview in English

Deadline: November 5.

Interviews with candidates will be held on November 12.

As a result of the competition, 10 students will be selected.

European University will cover the costs of flight tickets, hotel accommodation, and program fee for the selected students.
