About Center
Functions of the Language Center:
- Developing educational programs for teaching foreign languages (including Georgian as a foreign language for international students) according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) from A1 to B2 levels and supervising them, implementing innovative methodologies, and ensuring regular updates of all program curricula and syllabi;
- Ensuring the compliance of foreign language teaching programs with European language competency standards (CEFR) and the university's academic goals, defining the trends for foreign language teaching at the university, and elaborating strategic development plans;
- Establishing quality standards for foreign language teaching, monitoring the teaching process through regular observation and assessment, evaluating learning outcomes, and ensuring compliance with the university's quality assurance guidelines;
- Selecting qualified language specialists, managing workload distribution, organizing professional development opportunities, evaluating teaching staff performance, and creating a collaborative and supportive work environment;
- Coordinating with faculties to integrate foreign language teaching into educational programs, managing foreign language program schedules, and coordinating the activities of the TOEFL examination center;
- Organizing language proficiency level assessment testing for students, monitoring academic performance, implementing additional support measures when needed, reviewing student feedback, and providing appropriate support services for language learners;
- Managing the Language Center resources and infrastructure, supervising the maintenance and renewal of the teaching facilities, organizing the rational use of teaching materials, technologies, and infrastructure, and preparing regular reports on the center's activities.
