IV International Scientific Session was held at European University

On March 6, 7, 8, 2026, the IV International Scientific Session was held at European University. The event was organized by the Georgian National Academy of Sciences, the National Agency for Cultural Heritage Preservation of Georgia, and the European University’s Acad. Andria Apakidze Institute of Archaeology.

The session was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Academician Malkhaz Abdushelishvili.

The participants and guests of the session were welcomed by Ms. Tea Oniani, Director General of the National Agency for Cultural Heritage Preservation of Georgia, who addressed the audience with opening remarks.

During the session, reports on ongoing field research and recent archaeological discoveries were presented by both Georgian scholars representing research centers in Tbilisi, Rustavi, Mtskheta, Kutaisi, Batumi, and Telavi, and foreign archaeologists from Austria and Poland.

The session brought together specialists from various academic and research institutions, providing an important platform for the exchange of new research results, scholarly discussion, and international collaboration in the field of archaeology and related disciplines.
