Sofia, Bulgaria | April 23–25, 2025 — Professor Eka Kavelidze, Dean of the Faculty of Law, Humanities and Social Sciences at European University, participated in the prestigious International Conference organized by the European Law Faculties Association (ELFA). The event was held in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, and brought together hundreds of legal scholars and academic leaders from across the globe.
The theme of this year’s conference was “30 Years of ELFA: Legal Education between Traditions and Modernities.” Over the course of three days, participants engaged in discussions on the transformation of legal education over the past three decades and the evolving of traditional methods on contemporary challenges.
As the only organization uniting law faculties at the European level, ELFA plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of legal education. European University officially joined the association in 2024. During the conference, Professor Kavelidze was formally recognized with a certificate of membership, marking the university’s commitment to international collaboration and academic excellence in legal studies.
In addition to attending key sessions, Professor Kavelidze engaged in productive meetings with academic representatives from leading institutions, laying the groundwork for future partnerships and collaborative initiatives in legal education.
Today, ELFA encompasses over 150 member institutions from 49 countries across four continents, serving as a vital platform for dialogue and development among legal educators worldwide.
